Particular Peyton, Daring Damien

My journey to Damien…

I was born Peyton and became Damien. This is my story of how that journey unfolded. The flip side of this book is my mom’s journey as she walked with me on mine.

What an amazing insight and journey of love and support . A look into what both the child and mother are feeling subsequently. The inquisitive nature pulls you right into the pages , as if you are experiencing the journey right along with them.

Beautifully written. From kids/adults figuring out where they fit in to this beautiful world, to parents figuring out how to love kids through this crazy ride. There is so much love and acceptance that pours out of these pages… not to mention great resources and information.

This book is a breath of fresh air – it is a beautiful and compelling story full of honesty (and humor) about the journey of a parent and child. It is very informative and genuine, you can feel the raw emotions as they navigate through the ups and downs of adolescence and beyond. The unconditional love expressed in this story is very evident and deeply moving. I would highly recommend this book!

This book is amazing! I’ve known Damien since he was Peyton as a child. When he started his transition I supported him 100%! I have never seen a kid happier in my life, as I did when he cut his long hair and started transitioning to Damien. It makes my heart sooo happy! Candace is the BEST mama, and friend and woman you will ever know. I love them both so much! I HIGHLY recommend everyone, please read this book! It is so touching and amazing! You will not be disappointed…

Amazing! Heartwarming, compelling, yet full of information. I love its lighthearted humor but true life story. I am blown away at the journey and how a potentially heavy subject is made so understandable & interesting, yet still maintain “all the feels”! A must read for all!

Truly a view into the transition from “who am I?”, to “Who I AM.” I LOVE THIS BOOK, and LOVE this FAMILY!

If you want to feel less alone in the world, if you want to read a story about acceptance, love, and more love, if you want to read a story that reminds you that there are always more perspectives and another side to the same journey, get this book.
The journey of the child is never solo! The journey of the parent is never solo! You do this together. You learn from shared experiences and you love your way through it all!

This is an amazing book that is down to earth and contains great information and resources. The family’s personal story will be helpful to anyone who wants to learn about how parents can support children who are transitioning, and the resources are invaluable. This is a journey that no family has to travel alone; there is a whole community of love and support.

I was blown away at the courage of the authors. Opening up your heart and soul to the world is not an easy thing. I very much enjoyed reading the journey from two perspectives— I found that unique and it gave the subject and story completely new life. Overall, I cannot praise it enough for being real, being honest. Well done!

There are hardly words to describe this book! Informative, great for the education of all ages, child AND a mother’s perspective, and so much more. I was blown away by the content and how candid both Damien and Candace were in the writing of this book. After reading it a second time, I can’t recommend it enough! A short, easy read to help anyone and everyone understand the transgender journey.

Candace found my Facebook page for my new book company. I am about to publish my own transgender book and she asked if I could read theirs and comment on it.
I think having personal experiences to go along with why there is a need to be our authentic selves is important for the child or adult who may be questioning who they are. I believe that through their experiences and the facts of why we need to do this hits a homerun.
This book is short but provides the insight of some of the feelings endured by both the transgender individuals and their loved ones.
This book does not dig deep into the topics but does let the transgender person and their loved ones know the problems they can encounter.
It can take the transgender person time to accept themselves before they even come out to another person. Having these personal experiences can make that process easier for the transgender person.
I thank Candace and Damien for allowing me this peek into their personal lives. I am also proud of what they are doing for the transgender community.
Damien, have a happy and authentic life. You too Candace. You both deserve it.
